NJMET Announces Opening of New Test Laboratory in Kowloon, Hong Kong
NJMET has opened an electronic component inspection facility in Hong Kong. It will use the facility to test components purchased in the Pacific Rim. Its Mission Imposter® counterfeit detection process will identify cloned and counterfeit components.
Clifton, NJ - PRLog - August 10, 2010 - Joseph Federico, Vice President and Director of Operations of NJMET, has announced that NJMET has opened a new inspection facility in Hong Kong. NJMET, a leading electronic test company, will use the facility to test components their customers purchase in the Pacific Rim. NJMET will use the same Mission Imposter® counterfeit detection process currently used at its Clifton, New Jersey lab to detect cloned and counterfeit components.
"As our Mission Imposter Expert Counterfeit Testing Program has grown, we have seen the need to offer testing services close to where our customers purchase many of their parts. This new facility will enable us to offer quality and time efficient service for electronic components purchased from Asia and the Pacific Rim,” said Joseph Federico.
Counterfeit components are an increasing problem in every industry using electronics. In today’s global economy it is increasingly difficult to know the true source of the parts you buy, according to Federico.
The NJMET Mission Imposter program begins with analyzing the shipping and packaging. It continues with the parts undergoing several levels of inspection including: marking and dimension checks, internal visual analysis, material analysis and electrical testing to insure the safety of the parts.
The new NJMET facility will be located at
